I was told I would need a new one, before I did the swap. I am very hardheaded and thought they were the same. So I tried using the old one. I couldnt get the 85 cable to connect to the TB linkage or something like that, or couldnt get it to draw enough slack out of the detent cable through the adjuster????
Hmm.. I have a brand new 85 cable on it now and an 87 on my workbench. The 85 cable hooks up the same, and the slack seems right.. I guess I'll find out when i drive the car and the shifts are out of whack...
