And so it begins.... (lsx content)

what are you doing for an alt setup mines being a bitch

What's wrong with yours?

I'm using the truck brackets, which probably wouldn't fit if I didn't use the 1" setback plates. It sticks up high, but it will fit under the hood...but not by a lot.

im using brp mounts which puts the motor up pretty high the truck bracket with alt wont fit the hood closing and it looks completely horrible, currently its mounted on the driverside of the block near the steering box

My hood closes with the truck alt. Did you sit the engine back or use the stock holes in the frame with the brp's?

Kevin has a point, the further forward it sits, the more likely it's gonna hit hood...

If you like how far forward it sits, you could always cut the brackets, tweak the angle, and weld em back on a bit lower. I used the solid moroso mounts, 1" setback plates, and it fits. Isn't pretty though...the fbody stuff looks nicer but the vette is probably the best fit for our cars from what I have seen in pics (just guessing).

Corvette accessory, BRP solids moved towards firewall on both of our conversions. Hood closes fine no clearance issues.

i used the stock holes and it moved the motor foward..i know this cause my driveshaft was 2 short and i have to have a new one made...i just made a temp fix for now till i convert to fbody front acc.

If it is not too late, move everything back to the firewall. Look at the first few pages in this thread and see what I did. You will be able to use your driveshaft too. The brp mounts push everything forward so it clears the AC box.

My plan is to get back onto my project here shortly. That boat I bought and repaired with some of that money I got from selling my Buick parts ended up being a very good deal. I now have a boat that is worth twice what I got into it;) Only bad part is that it has caused me to lose interest in racing and cars at the moment. The family loves it though. We go out every weekend. We cruised the Ohio River to downtown cincinnati yesterday. Got to watch the Bengals on the giant screen at the stadium and toured some replica ships of Christopher Columbus that were docked in the area. My two older kids love to tube. Here are some pics.

What make and year boat did you buy? I just bought one recently and it's really put my Buick on the back burner.

Nice! Mine is a '95 20.5' maxum. Got it for $2k with a cracked 4.3. Found a brand new 4.3 for $500. Did all the work myself. I have about $3k in it all together. Same boat is going for about $7k average locally.
My wife and kids were sitting at home while I was going to 4 events a year. I felt bad. Now we all go out together. The boat has got me laid by my wife more than my car ever did hahaha

Here it is at one of local lakes

Looks good and you cant beat what you have into it. Mine is a 2002 Bayliner Capri 19.5' with a 4.3 Vortex. My wife and kids love it. We've been out on it every chance we get.

Got some work done tonight. Basically just trying to figure out how I'm going to plumb everything. Made some progress.
Since summer is over. I'm just taking my time. Thinking of doing an aluminum radiator with an fittings and ss hose.

I'm trying to figure out where to mount my regulator also. I want to mount on the firewall like that but I want it to be legal for the track also...NHRA doesn't like the firewall mounts, that's a no no.

Really? I never knew that. That spot is not set in stone. Maybe make a mount back there to mount it to the intake. I will be back it tonight.

Well shit. I really liked that spot. My home track is strict on nhra rules....looks like I am going to find a new spot. Damn it!
