advancing timing with gears and chain

is it worth advancing the timing 4deg. im putting in a new chain and gear from cloyes. it has the three position crank gear, motor internals are stock as far as i know. check below for other aftermarket add ons.

IMO, if you advance the cam, you increase low end torque and lose upper end rpm. You already have more low end than most tires can handle on launch, so that is probably not necessary.

If you were to retard the cam 4 degrees, you would soften the bottom end slightly and the engine would rev a little better, kind of like having slightly more cam.
 
i havent heard anyone do or talk about it on a TB but yeah strike my last comment and reverse it.:eek:
