The 700 never came behind a 307. The case is Chevy only. Only the 200-4r if it was OD behind a 307. Most 200 4-R's have both patterns.

u sure, i know im not going crazy lol, ill post pics soon

Im sure. If it was an Olds 307 then it definitely doesnt have a Chevy bolt pattern:tongue: . The 200 4-R has the dual pattern on all cases from sometime in 83 up. The 700's are all Chevy. If its a 200 4R i bet its a code KC

There's a 2004R on Ebay now. Came from a 85 Cutlass with 307. I asked the seller, he said it's a KC code. Unless someone swapped in a 305/700R4 in that car it has to be a 2004R.

can someone decifer this is it a 700r4??? or a 400??connected to that olds engine

Its not a good choice for a high performance application.

Its on a Chevy!

That's not a Chevy engine in the pics. Chevy engines have the oil filter on the driver side and they don't have the straight up oil filler tube. The pics clearly show an Olds engine.

And the Chevy bell housing is different than the Olds, the Chevys have a point at the top with a hole for a bolt, not two camel humps like the Olds has.

Thanks for all the help im going to sell the motor and the trans for 300 then it has only 55,000 original miles on it.

Another way to verify that it's a 200 is the pan is held on with 11 bolts and has the word "metric" stamped into the pan.
