Removed the heads from the $250 4.8 junk yard mock up motor and sent them off to Total Engine Airflow in Tallmadge Ohio aka Trick Flow Heads for a CNC job.
New and larger intake valves 5.7l 2.00 , guides, competition valve job, new springs, valve seals, milled to 62cc, flowed and ported for $1200. The turn around on the heads were promised in two weeks, they were at my door step in two weeks! I never received this type of service and price before.

Nice flow numbers for a cheap $1200 port job. Gotta love it. Service, value and the customers budget in mind. Who would have ever thought this was possible.

Just sayin......

I was surprised to see a flow sheet, spec sheet and a final bill enclosed with the heads.

Good numbers and at low lift.
You can make big power with a small hr cam.

WOW! those look nice, great numbers too. Sure looks like they did less stuff to the heads that are on the other LS motor and these were a much better price.

Guys, lets try to just enjoy our new toys with out very thinly veiled vendor bashing...

Yeah I am going to throw the monkey wrench in here... Please stop with the inside shots at the old builder... We don't need anymore division in this community. Even though he isn't a vendor here I don't want to see anyone get bad mouthed... Trickflow hasn't done chit for the buick community so....

We have been down this road with other vendors before... Lets NOT do it again...

Curious, what headgaskets are you going to run for your FI LS?

Are you fabbing the headers or is there a kit?

This route is looking better to me every time I come back on the board so sorry for all the questions.

I am running a cometic .051 mls head gasket
Part number CGT-C5475-051

We are going to use the stock truck headers facing forward, flanges cut off v bands welded on.

I will start a new thread in the next few days about the 4.8 build up. The parts are starting to arrive at Full Throttle.
