1/4" timing chain slack okay?

I'm in the process of building up my 87gn short block. The cc double roller timing set I've installed has 1/4" play. I've also tried a single roller I have...with tensioner it seems alright. Any issue using a single roller and a cc 206 roller cam? I know...the right way is to buy a undersized rollmaster, but then what size?

1/4" sounds fine - that is not much movement

You're not still using the tensioner, or are you?I hear that rollers can be trouble. Just hearsay on my part. Good luck!

Yes, I am using the tensioner along with a steel stock replacement timing set. When comparing a stock and double roller timing set I don't see a double roller as being much or any stronger.
