Tommy you got it right. It was all in the negotiations and that part was LEFT OUT. We were very surprised by the final cut of the show. It took lots of time to get Adam to play it our way. Again, he had many outs, but the final cut seemed like we played him too easily. That was not the case, he had consulted with his people many many times and Adam always had the final say.

That Nova owner allowed himself to get duped. He came there after preparing to race an LC2, and was faced with a stroked and juiced smallblock. He should have just turned around and went home. People would've ridiculed him, but it's not his fault the deal had been changed on him at the last minute. The unknown is what caused him to lose his car.

It was a Vega with a big block and fur for paint...called the wolly mammoth and was also featured at the SEMA show in 2005.

Alex bought a car that Chris ended up racing.
It was a monza that has been featured on the show before.
The car is not as nice as what you will be driving.

Adam wasn't very straight forward about his 9.80 car. That's without the juice

I do agree they seemed to focus on Rich Christiansen (the show host) a little too much. They completely missed the essence of the race and should have focused on the attitudes and work that went into preparing the cars for the race. In order for the Camaro with 9" slicks to hook, we VHT'd the tires/track before every race. Since they had a 29.5 x 10.5W and were backhalved, they didn't do or need any track prep. This is just one of the dimensions they didn't focus on.

It was bad enough to hear them mention a GN and not get to see it race, but watching that guy get tricked out of his car was bunk. I'm sure many will say that is the point of the show. I just don't think it's fair when one guy is completely straight-forward and the other is a sheister. And when did the host start running his mouth so much about how many cars he thinks is fair? Who give a damn... it's not his car!

Sorry, I always get the two confused! :frown:

Also note that we could have missed the opportunity to race. We had to go visit the INdian casino to withdraw the cash to buy the car.
We didn't even know Jaimie's car (the Camaro) was for sale until we got there. We could have raced with the GN but the ignition was breaking up at high boost, high RPM.

the only episode I've seen was the one with the 2nd gen Rx-7, saw it linked on my OTHER forum. :)
I was not a big fan of the show because you never get to see what the cars can actually do! They just piddle around just enough so that on the last race they can punch it and win...that's no fun. That first race the Madza nose-dived he was holding back so bad!

But, I'll watch an episode if its going to have a GN in it!

One thing I'll never understand is why a person doesn't want to drive his own car. Then again, I have driven for several people so I guess I shouldn't complain. Nothing like enjoying a ride on someone else's dime!
I made my first 5 sec eighth passes a few weeks ago in a friends car because he just doesn't like to drive.. Oh well...

id love to see that show.

chris, was just listening to the radio show, i understand what went down now. do know why but, they made alex seem like kind of an ass on the show. its ok thought i guess, with the way they were talking about him i think hell be back on the show, probally sooner rather than later.

i just have one question though, why did he give him that one race??? if he would have beat him it was over, why was there a big deal with not letting him know it was a 8 sec car??
