it was working great, everything. the starter started to go, then like two or three days later the flexplate started clickn like it was cracked. now this was the day after i got a smog pre test and so i wanted to get the smog handled before i pulled it apart. so i decided to drive to the smog...

kwikr...have any other ideas on what the problem may be? couple people think its the pump. it makes a clicking type noise and goes no where. car shifted great every thing was good till the center of the flexplate ripped out.

well replaced the converter and flex plate. went to drive car, no movement at all in any gear. verdict is a blown front pump. never replaced a front pump before, are there any specials tools needed? how deep into the trans do i need to go? how difficult of a job is this?

its not the injectors. my car burned eyes for half a mile with 009's and a atr chip. went to a pte chip and now runs great and rips'em free at 60.

ive got 009. passed clean as a wistle in california. put a lil methanol in the tank and your good to go...

thanks greg and bruce. ill check it out. with the clearance question, im confused. just had the flexplate bolted to the converter. the center was still bolted to the crank and the outside was still bolted to the converter.

well after replacing the flexplate, center completely busted out, the car still wont move. nothing, no foward no reverse. after talking with some folks, census is either the converter or the front pump or both. opinon has it that its the front pump because "even if the converter blew out i...
