    Nitrous and Water Injection?

My main concern was what the implications would be using both systems at the same time, hence the thought of using the Nitrous only for the track and the water / Alky injection for the street...

    Nitrous and Water Injection?

Ok. What I am hearing here is kinda where I was leaning - Water / Alky mixture for street use and Nitrous at the track - both at the same time, could cause some issues and I did recognize that in terms of cooling the intake charge, the Nitrous was already doing this a bunch. The acid compound as...

    Nitrous and Water Injection?

Ok, so I have been running Nitrous on the car for a few years at the track only and realize the benefits of the cool intake charge as well as the additional fuel that gets dumped in. I have been reading a lot about water injection for turbo applications and the benefits of the cool intake charge...

Before/After Black racing - learned a few things.

Rich, Those are good times and in the heat to boot...We just got back from the track this week (first time out in quite a while) and were in the low 16's, but 60' foot times in the 2.6 range (I'm at a mile high altitude which sucks). Previous 60' times were in the 2.2 range and we have been in...

Finally got the car back together...

Thanks 1980 Buick! The turbo is the stock unit, but I have another on the bench that I plan on reworking some stuff in the near future ;)

    One Fast B4B

Nice run. .63 is a pretty big shot, I think I am running a .42. Nice to know there is some more in the stock type setup. I was curious how the 301 turbo would perform as well.

    Time Slips

Charlie, I think I am still spinning the tires a bit at launch, even with the Hoosiers I was running. Still, I am also at 6,000ft altitude, so I've got to think that will have some impact as well, but I certainly would like to be below 2.0 '60. What times are you currently running?

    Time Slips

charlief1, 60' times are 2.3's without Nitrous shot and 2.1's with. Mat, I run at Bandimere Speedway in Denver, CO. I can clearly see that cooler air temps with lower humidity yields the best time slips and can see how important it is to cool the intake charge.

who needs a stock carb turbo cold air intake setup???

Pics? What condition is the red hose in? Cracks, etc.?

    Time Slips

Sorry to hear about the ignition issue - I fought a similar issue last fall when I reassembled the engine - turned out to be the 4-pin connector for the ESC unit - the black wire was broken from all the handling. I repaired the wire and, bam, started right up. I also had an issue with the...

    Time Slips

Found all the time slips I've made on the car over the years - quite a pile but I don't know the exact count. Found the latest ones with the best run, less Nitrous at 15.930 / 85mph. With the NHRA altitude factor of .9250 for ET and 1.0801 for MPH, it works out to a 14.73 / 92mph. Not too...

Dug out some speed parts today

I didn't realize I couldn't upload photos directly from my iPhone... Here's some photos of the stuff that will be going on the car once we're ready to take it back out to the track.

Dug out some speed parts today

Started digging out the old speed parts from the attic today. KB cold air kit and air bag for the passenger side. Hope to have the driveshaft loop here and installed in a week or so.

Got a carb turbo torn apart and

Seems like it should spool much faster than what is shown in the video. I would look at increasing the stall speed of the convertor and what you have for rear gears. I know when I changed the convertor to a higher stall speed, it really would get things going with the stock turbo. If memory...

    New Old Car

Sounds like the drain tube gasket or more likely, the rubber boot that it fits into in the intake manifold has given up the ghost.

Do the swap to '79 up heads and intake - you'll notice a big difference, I sure did.
