I just picked up a '97 Grand Cherokee w/ a 4.0L. Do any of you have any idea what would be the best shift kit for this tranny? Or at least what certain brands act like and the difficulty of install? Thanks in advance.

salvageV6, thanks for the reply. I imagine we will probably have to use the fake alky at least for demonstration purposes. I doubt the faculty will be doing any taste tests. It's probably a good thing you mentioned about the coil sparking because I hadn't thought of that yet.

jastrckl, That would be an idea, but we can't have the alcohol blowing out of the shot glass. :D

I'm working on a senior project and need some sort of valve to control small amounts of alcohol. The alcohol will be gravity fed and each reservoir will have less than 1/2 gallon capacity. I was just wondering if the solenoid valve on the TR's is air only use or if it would hold up to alcohol...

Bruce, does that mean that CPT Transmission & CK are both the exact same 9x11 converter that PTS sells or are those 2 simply equal, but different from PTS in some way. Just wanted some clarification. Thanks.

You'll have to convert the front pump back to LU specs and replace the TCC solenoid if it has been removed. If not, the TCC will lock up as soon as you put it in reverse or drive and the car will stall. All I had to do to the front pump when converting back to lock-up was remove the lock-up...

I just figured I would add another choice to the 9x11 converters. I was running an original AC 9" for the past 2 years, but missed the lock-up on the long hills here in PA. Art gave me a good deal on his 9x11. I love it. The car will still rip the tires from a stand-still w/out power braking...

Who would've thought that a new solenoid would be bad. I ohmed the old one out and then put some voltage to it and it checked out ok. Put it in the tranny and test drove it for awhile.....and it works flawlessly! Thanks again guys.

I just reinstalled a L.U. converter after having a N.L.U. converter for 2 years. The new lock-up converter works perfectly until the car reaches operating temps, at which point the TCC permanently locks up. I put an extra quart of fluid in to prevent cavitation b/c i couldn't really afford a...

turbot2496, I thought the same thing when I first looked at mine. But it only goes on one way b/c the bolt holes are a little offset if I remember correctly. HTH. ps. mine was for a stock throttle body/plenum.
