Ignorant question for those bypassing the pressure switch on shurflo pumps...

Isnt there a danger of burning the pump out? I use an m4 nozzle (mcmaster carr) and it flows nowhere near the capacity of the pump. just seems like that would burn the pump up, or at least blow the seals. Gary

Any benefit to constant misting on long cruises?

I am curious to know if there would be any benefit to a constant (very low amount) misting of water on long interstate cruises? I have a Kenne Bell supercharged Rustang, and that roots blower heats up the charge pretty good. I know that water injection originally came on the scene as a fuel...

Water injection experiment. Washer fluid instead of water...

I was having great success with water in my 1995 KB'd Rustang, so I got greedy and decided to try washer fluid since it has methanol in it. Well, in my car, it does not do as well as plain old water. I would get tip in detonation with washer fluid and I NEVER got that with water. I am running 11...

Alky or water best for just cooling?...

I am running a DIY water injection kit on a stock motored 95 Rustang with a Kenne Bell Whipplecharger. I am injecting just before the SC 1) out of convenience 2) I figue the screws will help vaporize the charge. My question is, would alky be better for cooling? I am currently able to run...

Please help end a 'HEATED" debate about injecting before or after the power adder.

Ok, here is the set up. I am running a 1995 Rustang with a KB twin screw supercharger. Because the KB sits right on the lower intake, I am injecting just before the screws. I figure that the screws will help atomize the water, and the slow speed of the screws will keep the water from damaging...

How does injecting water cool to a temp lower then the water itself?

I am perplexed. I tapped my KB manifold for a M2 nozzle, and went out for a quick run. When I got back and put my hand on the manifold, it was COLD and covered with condensation. Can someone explain this in laymans terms? Gary

Are there any other "threaded head" nozzles beside aquamist?

I need a nozzle that screws in from the outside. I tried to find a reducer bushing for the mcmaster carr nozzles, but I cant find anything long enough due to the filter. Who has a solution? gary

    To those running straight water.....

I have had my diy kit on for less than a year, but have already had 2 nozzles scale up on me. One, a m2 clogged completely. i know that using distilled water would help, but i have heard that distilled will eat up aluminum over time. What are your thoughts? Gary

    Question about injection angle.

I have a KB supercharged Mustang that I built a W/I kit for. I screwed the nozzle straight into the side of the intake tube (before the TB). My injection starts at 4 lbs of boost. My KB tops out at 11 lbs. My question is, Am I just coating the other side of the intake tube with water, by...

Is it ok to put the water filter after the pump?

My pump is in a hard to get to position, and it would be a pain in the arse to put a filter before the pump. Is after the pump ok? Gary

What nozzles are you using, and where did you get them?

I have the mcmaster carr nozzles, but the heads are bigger then the threads. This makes placement difficult. Anybody have a suggestion for nozzles? Gary
