I'm creating flush mount quarter windows

I hope this all doesn't deter you from continuing your effort in this endeavor. I'm really looking forward to ordering a set in a few months when I put my car in the body shop

Mee too.
At first - I thought- flush mount? So what?
I like my qtr glass with all that rubber and trim around it. (Not)

But the more I looked at these - the cooler they look.
They're sooo ..what's the word? Not 80's?

It's not like 10 other people are doing this.
We're pretty fortunate to have someone willing to take on the challenge.
Big challenge that it is.

Growing pains.
Not that it helps the poor folks who's cars' are ready for windows.

But - unless I missed something - it seems you could (gently) install temporarily a stock style QTR glass section without the elephant $hit - with just the rubber gasket - just to get you by for a bit .
I'd go so far as to use some foam tape on the backside to protect the new paint and maybe add an extra seal.
And stay out of the rain. As if any self respecting TR owner would ever think of driving their car if there was even a chance of rain. :D
Not that it's a fun fest to take the sail panel off - but it ain't the worst thing in the world.
I realize though perhaps some body work or finish might / need to be done to make the flush mount perfect.
Heck - were it me -and I was really waiting on the windows - I might consider fabbing up a template of plexi and bolting it in temporarily with some decent looking black button heads. NASCAR style!
Do your body finish - then swap when the windows get delivered.
If they don't - get out the ole elephant $hit for your stockers and reinstall. No harm - no foul.
Sometimes, the stars don't line up exactly with the plan.

I too wish they would have that little vent type / flip out lever though!
Now that would be cool! :D

You'd have to be fully staffed with round the clock employees to deal with the complaining TR crowd. So no, don't quit your day job.

LOL, no different than any other group of passionate enthusiasts. These people have forked out money for a product and its been months. So I get it. . . I understand where people are coming from. I can handle "where are my windows", I just can't handle "this guy is out to F*** everyone out of money. . ."

I have to go out of town to Charleston to handle a situation at the Daimler Sprinter Van plant on Friday. I'm hoping to finish 2 of the sets that have been in process before I leave and ship them. I will update thursday on status.

Best regards,

Brian

Got back from Charleston. Will restart on kits. Two are in process have been drilled, sanded taped up and ready for paint. Need to grind inserts, paint, and press inserts.

Hope everyone enjoyed the weekend,

Brian

I just read this entire thread and Brian if you didn't have bad luck you wouldn't have any at all. ;)

I own my own business and some days there is nothing that will go right. Keep moving forward and it will work out in the end. When all the odds and ends sort themselves out and people are loving their windows you will be the hero and all the trials you went through will be a faint memory.

I've been there done that and some day's I think back and wondered how I ever made it through some of those times.

You have shown you can take the heat and keep going and that show's me you were the right guy to bring this product to market.

Keep doing the best you can and I'm looking forward to your success!

I'm still in for front and rear windshields when the opportunity arrises. I can get you measurements as well when you need them.

Im thinking rear glass as well. The windshield might be a problem if its going on a street driven car. He would have to talk to his lawyer on that one. but if its not an issue I might be in for the front as well.
Brian. I give you credit for sticking this out. I would have gave up or killed someone long ago.

Patiently waiting as I think I paid in the first set of 10 batch back when. I'm ready when they are ready, but no hurry for me. I covered up my chrome opera windows with black electrical tape to get me by with my W02 conversion. Between 3 kids 5 and under and a 33ft boat I have my hands full.

Had to go to Charleston yet again on Sunday and got back last night. Painted the two sets but it was raining heavily here in upstate SC on Saturday so humidity prevented paint from curing in time to press inserts.

Tried to get on here yesterday but I was in Charleston at Daimler and never got a chance. Yup, was out of town all weekend and yesterday so progress is slow. Got 2 more sets pre-drilled and taped up ready for paint. The first two sets are dry and will get inserts pressed in. I have a few that I need to get done together to take to my tinting guy. He wants them in batches to save from wasting tint and charging me like crazy.

Had a board member off of here visit my house last night and really liked the windows.

Thanks,

Brian

Made a lot of progress this weekend. I'm need to touch up and box 2 sets and got 2 more in progress. I am off Tuesday of this week so I'll be finishing up the other two and shipping the first two. Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend.

Thanks,

Brian

Update:

I started touchup on the two finished sets and installed the studs but have not gotten back to the shop to grab them and ship them.

Not to divulge too much info into my personal life but my wife and I have separated and my world is spinning right now. This is the main reason my progress slowed the last 2 months (among many other things including being out of town). I have come close to completion of the second two sets of which at least one requires tint installation.

Thank you,

Brian

I know how that goes. My Ex wife tried cleaning me out. She came to my house when I was at work to take everything with her boyfriend. The best part is they met up with my nut bag brother and boy did he beat that guys azz.
One word of advice Brian. I dont know how you feel but by the sounds of it its not good.Keep your health good.Eat right and dont bad mouth her to your friends or anyone else because if things work out you will have that to deal with later. Keep yourself occupied and you will get through this.Life throws curve balls all the time and it sucks. remember to keep your head up high. I hope it all works out for you .

Hey Brian.
Just checking in to see what is the status of my windows. Look forward to hearing from you
Thanks. Ross

Hope things are going well or at least as well as they could be given the circumstances.
My car is going in the shop at the end of this month. I should be ready to order a set for myself soon once everyone else has been caught up with.

Don't hold your breath,I paid in march and cant seem to get an answer when I can expect to get windows.

The one thing I really miss about the ex is that she took my 86 GN with her as part of the "I'm cashing out - of your money" settlement.
God I really miss her though.
Sigh.
I ran her VIN a while back, but never could find her.

I paid a while back maybe in March. But I understand what Brian is going through and it sucks. So lets give the guy a break.
I went through the same thing and I cant believe Im still breathing . I don't know Brian so there is not a lot I can say but for someone to go through what he is going through and still having to keep a full time job the last thing on his mind is these windows. You know he will come though .He didnt come this far for nothing. Brian I hope all is well
