this is really cool and cant wait for the writeup!

Thanks for the good feedback everyone, I will do the how to when I get the time this weekend to take it back apart so I can include pictures.

I have thought about producing a passenger or drivers side strip with your normal oil, boost, temp n volts i guess knock would actually be really easy too as you just need leds and not the segmented display. The display doesn't take up all the room so you could even add a symbol lit up by an led. I will price out the cost to see if it would be worth my time to make and sell. If I go that route myself ill do a how to anyway for the DIY guys

The part # is 21-12395 here is the link.

I'm thinking this could be used for a wideband readout as well? I ordered 2 today. Very cool idea!

When you do the write up type everything up before you post it. Then all you need to do is a copy and paste and add pics. Do the pics as thumbnails so the pics will be bigger when clicked on, and when you post it this will keep questions down until you get all the info posted. That way any questions can be answered after everything is posted.;)

Would be awesome for voltage and even a water temp to be right there so I don't have to scroll through the scanmaster.
Thanks in advance for writing this up!

Volts and water temp would be great off the top of my head. There are countless possibilities.....

Nice work. Subtle is the way to go

You could replace all you idiot lights with actual readouts. Temp with the actual temp. Volts with the actual volts. Oil/choke with oil pressure and so on. The only thing you'd need to leave is your turn signals.

No.....I want turn signals that spell out left and right.......LOL

Bryan

Yours need to display the $ sign so you know how much it's gonna cost you this time :D

Looking forward to the complete write-up

Wow this is more well received than I thought. I actually was originally going to do the rear view mirror for oil and temp similar to this link

http://www.audigeeks.com/forums/index.php?topic=3091.0

but I love the voltmeter so much I will probably do the rest in the dummy lights as suggested in the replies, very stealth when parked key off. Well the weekend is here so I hope to get to this tomorrow afternoon or evening so the initial how to is complete.

I really like this idea. All info would be right in front of you rather than having to look down at gauges on the console. How do you wire these up to read the different sources? Could the existing wires for the bulbs be used?

Turbo hungry is going to do a write up on it.
