My impression, for you making those rules was so you could find some sort of "loophole" where his car won't meet one of them and you can save face for not racing him after you called him out. Instead of making all those rules, just make sure it's his car vs your car. No rules, just those two cars, racing each other.

It looks like everyone wants it to happen. Between my offer for a free racing venue, Gene's offer for gas money, your offer for $1K, and Tony's GIANT offer, why wouldn't this happen? No need for any lists. The race is your 224ci car vs Tony's TSO legal car. Why do you think he would need to bring another car? Based on past performances, he has you covered by around 8 tenths and 15 mph. The biggest stumbling block I see is you making it worth it for Tony to make the drive. He certainly made it worth it for you to come to him. $10000 should cover your expenses even if your tow vehicle has a slipping transmission with 30% drivetrain losses.
Ahh, so there it is. You are going to hide behind the $500 amount? I'm pretty sure Tony never agreed to that, that's why you raised it to $1000 and Tony said make it $10,000. Depending on what you offer for travel, it doesn't appear like you want to race him has much as he wants to race you.
Over and over again, Tony wanted to stick to the original challenge. He even quoted it in his own post. If you have a problem with it, you'd better talk to Tony about it.
And please don't come back and say you want to change something.
I just went back and re-read it. Tony agreed to the TERMS but never agreed to the AMOUNT. Why else would you have raised it to $1000? Then Tony told you it had to be much higher then that just to cover costs. Heck, Tony even agreed to race you with your rules. You are sooo transparent. If you are not afraid to race him, then all that's left is to negotiate the amount and make this happen.
I wouldn't presume to represent him. Unlike us, Tony was working and didn't have time to post. I was just trying to help you get your wish. You were pretty adament how you wanted to race him. My only purpose was to try and negotiate an agreement between the two of you so this race could happen. I don't think there's a person on this board that doesn't want to see that.
You stated "take it or leave it". Did you review the previous posts? TONY SAID HE WOULD RACE YOU. All that you guys had left to do is work out the money. If you are retreating back to the $500 amount, which Tony never agreed to, then you have really shown your true colors and you don't really want to race him.

Don, I will extend the offer of for the $1000 I was going to give you to show up to Bowling Green to show up and race against Tony out this way. No stipulations to this money other than stage next to Tony and it is yours. I know you have had other offers too and I would bet your fuel will paid for or close to it. I had an idea tonight as well while I was fixing the washing machine. I found $3.57 in the washing machine. I will add any found money to the $1000 between now and the race. I am figuring that by the time you finally race Tony (if ever), my contribution to the race will considerable. Right now I am at $1003.57 but I have a rebate from a laptop I bought for $50 coming any day. Rather than blowing it on something silly like going to the movies with the family or saving it, I will set it aside for you.
Just to keep this straight, found money means:
Money found unexectedly (obviously)
rebates (when I remember to send them in, that's how thwy get you)
money owed to me for over a year and finally collected (good luck)
scrap money when I clean up the yard around the shop (huge)
my kids allowances when they don't pick up sticks (even huger)
tips I recieve from customers (not so huge, but once in a while)
discounts on my car insurance (my driving record is pretty damn good)

I'm sitting here a little perplexed. Cal. Are you trying to step in and inject yourself the promoter of this possible match race?
Would that be a bad thing? Someone needs to keep track of the offers being made.
