I broke my Buick...

Lou was his stock crank Nitrided, I know you used to do this?
Yes it was I learned that lesson years ago. Early on I was getting some engine failures & hadn't had any problems since prepping the cranks. The engine in Chickens car had stock main caps, stock pistons, he at that time told me money was tight & only wanted to go 12.90,s & would be happy with that. As time went on, ported heads, intake, roller cam, bigger inter cooler, injectors, turbo etc. Ad to the fact that he was encouraged & enabled by the members of the kill section, now his car & heart are both broken.

Have you ever done a cryo treatment in addition to a nitride treatment Lou?

Pictures courtesy of underboost !

Stock short block with 150,000 miles Underboost ( Brent ) kept increasing the boost & going faster each time out. Wanted a 6 sec. e.t. slip 32 # boost later he went 6.90 &
kaboom !

No on chickens budget maybe hiring a priest to say a few prayers over his next engine may be helpful. Provided he would do it for free !

Sorry to hear about your loss. It's kinda hard to believe that this stock built, short block has lasted as long as it has. Let's see! 40,000 miles? That's 160,000 quarter mile passes. This engine should be bronzed and sent to the Smithsonian. Racers will come from far and wide to rub the sacred short block, for good luck with their new engines. I'll try and pick up some of the slack in the kill section while your down, so the city streets are not over run with Hondas, antique motor bikes and little old ladys on electric scooters, looking to post a win in the Leisure World Kill Section. Hope you get it back up and running soon. Let me know if I can help.

It certainly worked on this engine....the power of prayer baybee!!!

As I coasted to a stop at the entrance of the Santiago Canyon Landfill, I could hear angels singing and a extra bright sun beam shone upon my hood hump.

It's gonna be awhile...gotta cover my last upgade...pay the property taxes....get the wife a birthday present....cover Christmas....got the kids birthdays in January....then Valentines day.....then I might be able to squeeze it in befor the next PRoerty tax bill comes due and my Anniversary in July.

It aint easy being me....
;-)

I'm actually gonna finally fix the Camaro. I just need to buy some new 17" wheels and tires, and then finally fix that bent axle and rebuild the carb. I have the carb rebuild kit, the new axle and brake rotor....so it'll be an easy job on a Saturday once the wheels and tires arrive.

Maybe a push into that landfill & have the priest administer it's last rights. that poor car deserves a decent burial.

Chicken you have no imagination for the future, Were you to bury that car it would be a time capsule. A thousand years or so from now it would be uncovered by some archeologists & they would try to guess who owned that car & you would be revered as some king or god. The buzz would be that you were a high priest to some sect that worshiped a turbo six emblem. You would be bigger than king tut.

Not really, Lou. King Tut had enough $$ to fix his own chariot when it crapped out on him.
J/K, Tim, I wish you well on your endeavors on repairing the car.

Gary, thats an unfair assessment, King Tut only had only a couple of horses to worry about. Chicken on the other hand had at least 500. Thats a lot of nags to keep track of.

Ya and King Tut got killed....probably by a Turbo Buick...

Really sorry to hear of your loss, MC.

The Chicken Coup has been an inspiration, no doubt. And it will rise from the ashes!

But really, a Camaro?

Ok, well I guess it will have to do in the pickle you've put yourself in.........knucklehead!

I'm pretty certain you and Lou will somehow scrape something together......... even his junk pile stuff seems to have some sort of special mojo.......

As a fellow Lou groupie, I have learned ya just gotta love him, no matter how hard he tries to run you off........

Grumpy Old Focker!:D
