Building 1000 hp gn need some help

Sorry, if you are serious about building 1000HP. If you are, you will have to budget OVER $50,000 if you want the power to even marginally work, as in hook. Take a ride in someones mid ten second street car and THEN decide if you want to build 1000hp. 750 streetable hp is down right SCARY!!!! If you have the money, and still want to do it, (that'd be VERY cool) Build a 11 second car, FIRST, (or buy one already made) then start working your way up, or you will most likely end up an organ donor. We all don't want to see that. Remember........accelerating is optional, stopping is MANDITORY! Spend alot of money on brakes and suspension BEFORE you even consider anything on the high side of 475HP.

Good luck. Oh ya....better buy alot of spare parts, too.;)

I done this 3 times basically, one time not 1000hp but mine as well have been and once much more so;)

Save yourself the trouble and buy one already done, much cheaper too:biggrin:

I'm pretty sure we are being trolled on this one! I know I've got a butt load of cash wrapped up in my Stage car. It's not like can just order stuff from Summit.

Everytime I look at my car, it ends up costing me $2K-$5k.

This post was not meant to be a joke or have anyone of u talking ****. I myself,a friend and his father are doing the build. I put the post for help and positive feedback.if u cant help or just want to be a @$$hole go on fb or twitter theres plenty of u on there.and this site is for buicks if u dont like them n want to talk about hondas go f**k off.and a bong really? Look if theres anyone that knows about building a motor vs handing some guy money to do it for u please let me kno. If not thank u for your time

What they are saying is, for a real 1000hp V6 you won't use any of the factory parts. It will require an aftermarket block like an Iron Stage 2 if you can find one, or the aluminum block from TA. From there you will need a good rotating assembly along with something like the Champion GN1R aluminum head. These will easily be 15k just for parts.

Best thing to do is call someone like Nick Micale who has worked with TA, Dan Strezo or Bobby at RPE and purchase a shortblock. A 1000hp V6 isn't something you want your local Joe Blow machine shop working on, especially if it's an aluminum block. You'll be money ahead in the long run.

don't take the ribbing personally. Without any replies from you, we don't know if you are serious, a teenager w/a whim or a troll. The comments were not meant to be personal attacks, they were just having fun at your expense while waiting for some reply on the feed-back. Remember, for us to give adequate suggestions, we have to have some info from you, like what tools and abilities, as well as how familiar you are with the buick engine. Only you can give us that knowledge so we know where to start. So give us a 2nd chance and give us an idea of what you're working with.

Im in florida.ive already got a stroker kit from gn1(40 over). And I talked to one of theshops I got from hear and they told me about the iron heads being better for the street cause of cooler temp. I will look into the TA heads and block. Thanks

That is actually backwards.......

Ive never built a buick engine just chevys but im trying. I understand that there are pros out there that have been doin this for years but they had to start somewhere and thats what im doin. I kno its not gonna b easy and its not gonna b cheap but I am willing to learn either way.

Then this is a good place to start. read, read, read. There is a ton of info in this forum in old threads. When you get to something you don't understand or just want guidance ask. Some very very knowledgeable members here.

You can build a "cheap" Chevy for less than $1K and you can build a "cheap" Buick for 2 to 2.5 times that, if you know what you're doing. The tolerences are different and the knowledge needs to be there before you even consider letting a machine shop at it. Ronnie's right about asking for help. If you need some ask and you should get the answers you're looking for.

Also go to your user controls and add a location so some one near you can help point you in the right direction.

Don't get your "panties in a bunch" because you do not like what you are hearing.

Very few members on this board, and even fewer in this thread, have any experience with 1000+ HP turbo Buick engines/cars, and probably the person that said use iron heads for a 1000 HP build is NOT someone experienced enough to give you valid advise.

The reason you are getting slammed is the way you approached this project giving very little info about what you want to accomplish, and even less about your capabilities and experience even close to that level.

A 1000 HP build is BIG bucks to do it right, and even more if you do not have the right experience or help.

There have been some serious replies, but in your opening post and replies have been a joke. Sorry, but if you cannot come up with more solid data and goals, it is hard to get serious!

I'll be surprised if you and your bench racing family attain half your goal.

Put down the modelling glue...
