My car was spitting and sputtering and my buddy said it was my kanooter valve. Either that or my headlight bearings. I can't find these on eBay or autozone. Anyone know where I can get these?

Oh hell no. I just ordered two of each. I gotta put them on my supercharged Pinto with the rear mount turbo setup that's going on this week. A couple cool stickers and that thing will be fast.

thats very typical

when the headlight fluid is low.

be sure to get headlight fluid with anti rust and ZDDP!

Be VERY careful when installing them. The instructions state that it can cause CCW. I always thought it meant "Counter Clock-Wise", but after further research, I find that CCW means Compulsive Cam Wiggle. If you develop CCW, it can seriously damage your Finiker Link. Finiker Links are such a pain to replace, too. I usually have to use a Metric Adjustable end wrench (also known as a "Several Sixteenths") And then back it up with a Whichita Whacker. The best material to use when fabricating Finiker Links is Unobtainium, but at nearly the price of gold these days, do what you can to avoid damaging it. By reducing CCW the car will run smoother and make a measurable amount of power increase as measured and verified with a calibrated "butt-dyno". (though, you REALLY don't want to know the calibration process.)

Replacing the kanooter valve isn't always necessary. Sometimes there's a buildup of carbon on the torque which interferes with transmittance. It only takes a film thickness of 3.8 micronewts to render the valve useless but a quick cleaning with a #5, medium stiffness Reach toothbrush will restore luster and performance. :p

The kanooter valve is located next to the muffler bearing. Everyone knows that :D

How bout the "710" cap

Pretty funny thread.

I thought someone was pulling my leg the first time I heard of Diesel exhaust fluid - and I am an auto tech.

Diesel exhaust fluid is the stuff that drips outta the tail pipe on cold mornings. It's usually black as tar, so it MUST be diesel exhaust fluid.

I use to manage a chain of autoparts stores 30 yrs ago and we use to have a BLAST calling competitors stores and asking the minimum wage kids for imaginary parts. We would ask for a carb rebuild kit for a '56 Henway. Ask for an anti spring occilation and dampening apperatus for a '67 Corvair. (shock absorber) But being it was for a Corvair, they would look and look and look not knowing what in the heck we were asking for. Boredom is a great motivator for the imagination. Now kids just turn on their phone and play games when bored. BORING!!!!

Yep..

that kanooter is the only control for the hosenkerflop, that lubes the above mentioned muff brg..Lose your kanooter, and it's goodbye to the muff brg..

Kinda like running out of alky at 800', and 30psi......

LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is by far one of the funniest threads I have read on this board!

That reminds me....

In the Navy we used to send the new guys (we called 'em Nubs or FNG's) for 50' of shore line, 10 gallons of Prop wash, or a can of relative bearing grease.
