How about everyone that has been in the 10's list your combos(minus the secret stuff:D) We see this questioned weekly. "What do I need to run 10's?) We all have different combos but it would help have fewer questions asked and point everyone to a certian post or sticky. Might even help me too! I have the technology. I have the power. It just won't stay in one peice!

I agree to low 10 high 10 range. Big difference. Let's keep it simple for guys with limits on cash flow. I say we go with breaking into the 10's. Least money spent to run a high 10. That way we don't throw guys out that don't have tons of money to invest in motor, trans, supension, ect. The guy who has a few add ons and wants to see what it takes. The problem we will have is "tuning" With little to no experience in the tuning category it's going to be a problem.

Grumpy. Hoped you might show up. You don't count. Your too fast. Just kidding! Now since you have ran such good numbers your the perfect person to be involved in this thread. Glad your here.

Well one thing I will add. This is a "cheap" way to do this BUT it had best be tuned with no knock. Crap happeneds quick on a 10 sec car. This was done with parts I had stockpiled over the years except for the turbo. Oh screw up... you will be picking up pieces. Gets very ugly at that point
... Now let me talk out the other side of my mouth  Stock stuff takes a beating BUT now ya have better cranks an rods. You also have a stock stroke or a stroker thats available. Very easy to spend extra $$$ BUT its prob something you should consider. The money pits start slow then snowball !!! BELIEVE ME :p

Your sig has enough to run 10 teens at under 30psi. With C16 or better you have enough to run 9's.

Heres the minimum to run 10's.
10 gallons C16 $140
chip $85
160* thermostat $15
open air filter $45
fender dump $35
6176/6276 $595?
slicks $400
injectors $300
fuel pump/wiring $150
lock up switch $5

Just wire the wastegate shut and leave off the e-brake @15psi. All without going in the engine and through the stock MAF with one screen removed. It will have enough to run 10's on a well prepped drag strip but wont last very long.

high ten combo

My friend Jim Dow broke into the 10's (10.98 @ 121) with a fairly short list of parts, back in 1999 or so. We drove 120 miles to NED, changed the tires and gas and drove home smiling

stock longblock w/ stock cam, 80k mile car
GN1s out of the box w/ GM headgaskets re-using the original headbolts
hotwired 307
TE52
THDP
C-16 w/ 50 lbers, not sure of chip
V4 intercooler
Mike Kurtz shift kit
Art Carr 9''
28 x 9 slicks on steel wheels
One airbag
23-25 lbs boost
stock boost control, stock MAF
Scanmaster, no tach, only a boost guage, just ran it in OD

I could have be in the 10's easy. Had a 11.4 in Reynolds last year. Blew the tires out with a 2.0 sixty footer. Broken motor mount. 20psi. I just don't have free time to ever get to the track. Only 1/8 mile anywhere close anyway. I wasn't really concerned with my setup. I always see post "what combo to get in the tens". Thought we could come up with a cheap setup for others. I have alot of money in my setup. Much more than most people are willing to spend. Much more.

10.87 @ 122. Full weight car. cruise, air, steel rims, slic, 91 oct gas with Razors alky, on 22 lbs of boost. See combo below.

I just read through your mods but this question isn't really directed at you. However is a dual nozzle alky kit recommended for 10's or would a single nozzle suffice? Street 10's is my long term goal but I don't know how long the 4.1 in my car will hold up. I am already looking into getting a 3.8 in the future.

Some impressive combos running 10s. Talk about probably hundreds of ways to achieve, just depends on how you want to get there. I love to see cars running solid 10's at low mph, just goes to show they've really got the car set up right!

I believe Dan is missing some basics:confused: that I am willing to bet he does:rolleyes:
1-Good maintenance includeing oil changes
2-sneeks up on tune every time he makes a change
3-Good driver that knows the car and gets out of it when it does not feel right
4-Constantly learning with track time
5-Good friends in the field(did I say friends ,well you get the point)
6-Patience,something we all need

I think that is about it:eek:
