Do you feel Police officer PROFILE cars?

Maybe you should donate to the State Police so you can get one of those big stickers that says "I Support NH State Troopers". Stick that on your back bumper. Maybe they'll not follow you so long. That time of night is when the drunks are out. They're just looking to see if you are impaired or panic and run. I got pulled over in the Maxima once. A very young cop followed me for several blocks and pulled me over. When he got out he went over to my plate and wiped off a bit of snow that was on the plate. It had snowed and I cleaned off the car good but the plate was recessed and got most off but not all. He gave me a lecture about wiping off snow off the plate. I'm looking at some kid that was the same age as my son telling me to clean my plates. In the mean time jerks were speeding by. What ever...

same here, i constantly see mustangs attempting to prove that their vehicles are not slow by racing anything in site as well as tuners and even vehicles with 26 inch rims, pounding bass, the guy is full of known gang tattoos and i'm the one that gets followed all the time, mind you not one of my windows is tinted.

I'm going to apply that military radar absorbing paint to my gn like this guy because radar units are getting too sophisticated

Yes and no. Profiling is a loaded word that has a negative connotation. Certain cars might get picked on in certain areas but that is most likely the cops own biases. I'll admit I've followed cars around and ran plates for no reason. Fast forward an hour I'm hooking someone up for outstanding warrants. All because I said, "hmm, I wonder what this guy is up to?" The later it gets, the more "interested" we get in cars. Also, a lot of PD's have BOLO sheets (be on the look out). The sheets don't get updated as much as they should and sometimes are vauge. If the bolo says look for a grey 4-door in this area wanted for possible robbery, bam. Everyone is looking for every grey or light colored sedan. They might have found the guy months ago or the car was a bad lead and we'll still be looking for it because it's on the bolo sheet.

Not a cop anymore:biggrin:

I also think it depends on the Officer. Some might like issuing tickets others may like going after gangs, felons or drugs. I don't think every cop likes to write tickets. Here in cali it's against the law to put police on a quota.

I got pulled over 4 times in 6 months in my LOUD, RED , z28 ... no reason.

I got pulled over zero times in my black "s10" , white "ta" , or caddy "old mans car" for the past 2 years ... hmmm ..... DEFINATELY something wrong here, I drive the EXACT SAME WAY ( legal ) ---

I don't think they rotate shifts? my guess is the senior guys have days & the Gung HO rookies have 3rd shift & that is the reason I get followed so much. I still think its the TRUCK

In my town the senior guys take the late shift since its easier to f-off at night when the boss isn't there. Well thats according to my buddy that works the late shift:D

NH cops are tough anyway. I see them all over the place when going to NED. One time they were in the breakdown lane running radar on 101. The SOB had his trunk open to make it look like he was broke down and you also couldn't see the light bar. They are tricky.

Whatever ones have a highly visible flaw like a missing light, no front plate, etc. Or the driver is doing something illegal like speeding, not signaling, talking on cell phone without hands free device, etc. People drive so f'd up in this country they dont have to look to far to find a problem.

Same here! They are every stoplight late at night! Drive like IDIOTS & DESERVE to get pulled over. Drive NORMAL & you rarely get pulled over. Even when I have & it was years ago, it was 2 female OPP (Hiway Patrol) as my flip down licence was down & I didnt know. Had a full Unopened case of beer beside me. They asked if the beer was sealed & then just wanted to see under the hood & said Nice Car Sir! Could have nailed me for many infractions as I was on the way home from the track with little to no emissions.

i know i;ve gotten pulled over because of my car... and i dont care.. If it means they might catch some crack dealing g-body driving hoods...then keep pulling me over. I wish they would pulled my cutlass over the morning it was stolen. I've been pulled over in my SS about a dozen times and only once did i get a ticket and he wrote me the lowest ticket he could cause he liked my car but it was a huge speed trap and he had no choice.. of those dozen or so times they never said a word about my tint.

Do yourself a favor and wipe your numbers off the windows before you leave the track. They usually hang out around Auburn, before getting on Rt93. I've never been stopped coming home from the track but Steve has. I believe he still had his numbers on. A while back they were having trouble with the "fast and furious" types racing after leaving the track. Staties put a damper on that quick.

Like Brett stated in the above, if you make yourself known to the police, driving like your in Bullitt, own a car that sticks out like a sore thumb, etc we will pull you over. I pull over anything but it is always things that stick out, i.e. like a girl driving a guy who keeps looking at you then turns his head for no reason, a bunch of guys circling a parking lot for no reason in a car that looks like it went through iraq and the plates come back to a guy who has done time for auto burglary, poss stolen vehicle, etc you get the idea. You wouldnt believe how many people run out of their cars for no reason b/c they say they are scared or they have warrants or they thought they had warrants and we set a perimeter, get k-9, air unit and it ends up being a 300 warrant for no drivers license lol:mad:! I work one of the two most violent areas in Vegas in which the far eastern part of our area is multi million dollar moviestar owned homes in the mountain overlooking the strip and not even 10 minutes to the west we have section 8 housing centers and dope riddled homes. We deal with a heavy volume of vice related and trick rolled centered crimes (trick rolls are say you go to a bar meet a good looking girl , start having drinks, maybe go to hotel room and ready to "have fun per se" and you black out b/c she drugged you and now her and her friends or pimp come in and take all your cc, cash, watches, everything and you wake up not knowing what happened and in a state of disrepair to state the least. In my area it high amounts of car theft (we were #1 nationwide for years), robberies, burglaries and street rips over dope and gang turf wars. I only cite for people with no drivers license, suspended dl, sus plates and no insurance. im in patrol and we have no quotas. Equipment violations i warn people about but never cite b/c my regals have super limo tint on them and other violations. Its equipment violations or loud exhaust that i pull people over for but its only the icing on the cake. im looking for felony warrants, guns, etc. unless you are highly disrespectful and show a penchant for breaking the law i.e. you have been cited 6x for having no proof of insurance then your getting cited. For instance no license plate lamps or no brake lights has gotten me reason to stop a car and resulted in getting dope guns felony warrants, etc. all for minor infractions they lead to big busts per se not always but quite often! ex a while back had a ford econoline with no rear brake lights pulled it over car smelled like mary jane got consent called in k-9, dog found 1lb a of marijuana and stolen gun in steering column. Small things lead to big fish![

Subject of turbo cars, they do stick out and my friends here in town are always calling me saying they are pulled over and wondering why. Car guys esp cops who are into cars like ours know that g body cars are easy to steal and i always run them to see if they are stolen. But i do agree depending on the area, you will get harassed in your regal due to the fact of loud exhaust , tinted windows or the fact they look nice. i always run plates sitting at lights of every plate i see and turbo cars too mainly to see if its stolen or i can benchrace with the owner and check out his car. but majority of stolen cars today for us are honda civics, (huge street racing problem out here i have confiscated myself close to 50 with stolen engines/trans; could be a $50 shell car with no drivetrain they will yank it), camrys, maximas, and 1500 and 2500 chevys, dodges, etc. We had a crew last year of meth heads stealing f250s and f350s and they got almost 20 before they were finally busted. But since turbo cars are rare to see them, compared to say a taurus, and if it sounds good and looks good a cop will or might pull it over since quite often as of late i notice the kids who you might say roll in gangs lol have a keen eye towards our cars so definitely invest in gps theft deterrent or fuel shut off or kill switch. leave it in a mall parking lot by itself is just asking for it to be stolen!

That one should be obvious to most people but still you see them just Showing Off on the street after they ran their 14 sec pass at the track! ;)

Yeah I left NED 1 night with my GN and was heading home. I turn onto 93 south and i see lights behind me.. I laugh to myself as I was driving 60 in what he said a 55 construction zone.. I said at 10:15 at night.. That was a FARGING excuse. When he saw my age on my licesnse he handed it back and off I went LOL I guess AGE helped here.

Yeah I only wipe certian numbers off so it says 11 or 10"s don't Fuk with me  of course my car is not that fast. :frown:

Pronto

Thanks for the tip when leaving NED. I will keep that in mind this year.

I can't wait for NED to open. With the warm weather coming in this weekend, I'm starting to get the itch to take out the GN.

brett,
you know rainbows on bumper stickers usaully means theres is a fruit on board. i'm taking it as the "it's ok" part means it's all good to admit you are a peter puffer. as far as the profiling i had couple state troopers follow me on the highway on the way home for almost a half hour each time in my 86 gt. i mean they were on my ass. it was usually around midnight when i got off working 2nd shift. the car was black with ar rims and i had 265-50- 15's out back that looked huge. i think they were hoping i'd do something wrong so they could nail me.

well i know it's not my driving, 27 yrs. class a license i've never had a moving violation ever, i don't have any bumper stickers, i'm seriously considering painting my gn white, silver or gold so as to blend in more with traffic.

Get one of these. I drive 85mph everywhere I go. Downtown even. Never get pulled.
