xylene?

Hey guys, what does xylene do and how much do you have to use? I went to Home Depot and found it in the paint supplies, but was'nt sure enough about it to buy. It really is o.k. to run this "thinner" in these cars with pump gas. I've owned my car for 7 years now and I had not heard of this stuff until I started going to this site regularly. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Before xylene, I had a LOT of knock with 92 octane and 12-13# of boost. With the xylene, I now have 0 knock with 17-18# of boost. Kind of a pain to mix but it will do until I get my alky kit!

1 gallon Xylene to every 3 gallons of gas and an oz. of Marvel Mystery Oil. That's how I used to mix it.

I have since switched to an SMC alky kit and pump gas.
