Why special treatment

Some people must be extremely frustrated with their own lives to make posts like this on a "car forum." Its pathetic, the same people over and over. Thank god I am not that miserable and actually like my life. I feel sorry for some of you guys who think the world is out to get them and their way of life.

For gnbrett google cop dies in hawthorne, ca

I read 3 of the links and none state the airlift for the relatives as the live newscast did. I didn't misunderstand the newscast and I'm not lying just to start something. If you don't believe me then that's your problem.

I don't go looking for this stuff but when I hear it it ticks me off.

NO ONE, deserves special treatment. The way you guys talk Pelosi is justified to travel in her own 747. And Michelle deserves, what is the number, 30 assistants to follow her everywhere.

It's not my fault the majority of CA's voters are ignorant along with the rest of the voters that keep reelecting the same self serving lying politicians.

Officers get special benefits from their departments. Just like car salesman get discounts on cars, burger flippers get free meals, Walmart employees get 15% off while shopping, pimps get free sex from their ladies, etc, etc, etc. In our world each and every person is shown favortism in one way or another. I guess you think that when a officer dies in the line of duty, there should not be a police escort for the family and the hurst.

Unless your one of the commanding officers, the govenor or mayor of this town or city, then mind your own business. They are the ones held responsible if there is a waste of taxpayers money or abuse of power. Too many times people try to get involved or understand something that they know nothing about. If you want to get involved or try and change the policy run for public office or start a petition to get the policy changed. We people as a whole spend to much time worrying about what the "Jones" are doing when we should worry about what we are doing and what we can do to change the world.

First, MCDonalds employees do not eat free. They can't eat the food being thrown away because it's sat too long and they can't give it to the homeless. The rest of the food service industry works for less than min wage because part of their wages is one or two free meals depending on the length of their shift.

WRONG. It's a citizens duty to report abuses of taxpayer money. Many times the leaders of the public agency are the biggest abusers. See City of Bell, Ca and City of Vernon, CA. And hazardous duty supervisors help their employees stack up lots of OT in their last year of service to pump up their retirement check. State of CA states no more than 6 officers are required at DUI checkpoints. A recent study shows that the average is 15 per checkpoint and some times as many as 40 with most just standing around drinking coffee and the checkpoints are manned on OT.

The problem with this Country is too many citizens leave it up to someone else. Too busy to be bothered, not my job. Hence we have public employees, even clerks and laborers, thinking they are better then the public that pays their salaries. I deal with many public agencies and some are polite and helpful others act like they are doing you a favor by acknowledging your presence. And it's by agency, not individuals. So the bosses set the standard not the workers.

Once again showing the mass coruption that goes on in California. That is not comon place, well at least not where I'm from. Heck most chiefs of police around here dont make what a police officer out there makes.

Those LEO salaries seem greatly exaggerated. I have three friends that are/were LEO. Two here in Alabama, and one that was on SWAT in Houston for awhile before becoming an Air Marshall and none of them made anywhere near that. In fact, most of them took "extra" jobs sitting outside bars or someplace where someone wanted a visible LEO presence to forgo potential problems. One of them gets discounted rent at his condo complex for parking the cruiser there and walking around the complex once when he gets off his evening shift.

Being a police officer is not even in the top ten of the most dangerous jobs in the United States. The police unions perpetuate this myth that it's extremely dangerous so that they can extort more money from tax payers.

Here is a link to the top 20 most dangerous jobs. Cops come in at #12. Dangerous Jobs - Galleries - The Daily Beast

Using the logic that people use to justify paying police absurd salaries and "hero" worship, we should be paying twice as much for fish, lumber, roofing, meat, construction, trash pickup, electricity (coal), and so on. No one is forced to be a police officer, if you can't handle the risks then maybe you shouldn't be a cop.

If your don't know what the f you're talking about then maybe you should shut it!

I doubt CA has the lock on political corruption. Try Chicago, Cleveland. In fact a town, if you could call it that, west of Cleveland had no ramps to the fwy but patrolled it and 90% of the towns income was from fwy tickets. The Feds shut them down.

I guess gordyzx9r didn't read your post.

If your don't know what the f you're talking about then maybe you should shut it!

Where is your contradictory info.

We are their commanding officers. They work for us. The USA isn't supposed to be some communist gulag where we are subordinate to the police. We pay their salaries. We also paid for this helicopter ride. <snip the rest of an excellent post>

Winner, winner, chicken dinner!!!

Pablo gets it.

Either you have been abused as a child or been bullied sometime in your lifetime. You'll probably be the first one to call the police when you're getting your a$$ kickked and then bad mouth the police after they saved your a$$.

If I were you, before you post anything, do you homework first.

Here in NJ, 8.5% of my pay goes towards my pension and no Social Security taken out. Then we have politicians taking our pension and using it for their own "projects". Here in NJ, we have our share of corrupt politicians using our pension money for a mall.

Oh yea, I work in the same town as I live. I pay taxes in the town, I guess I'm self employed then.

No, you work for private sector taxpayers.

Because you are paid by the government and the government does not have any money other than what it has taken from the private sector, you paying taxes is just giving back to the government some money which wasn't theirs in the first place.

Another way to look at it is you paying taxes is nothing more than the private sector getting a small rebate on your services.

If you'll notice, I was the first poster after this guy posted his "complaining" about special treatment to police officers.......my response was I really had something to say about this, but I was absolutely tongue tied as to what to say to his assine post.....thus, I just erased all the words I typed, as I was just so damn shocked, suprised and angry on how someone could complain about this....it was just unbelieveable to me.....I had to sleep on it....

So, injdinjn, I want you, tomorrow morning, bright and early, go over to that dead police officer's family, knock on the door, and tell them EXACTLY what you've told us in your first post.......to their face....be honest....complain to the deceased good officer's family (wife, children, his parents) and let ME know the pain you'll further inflict in this world..for it sure pained me to read this.....OK? Please? Then do the same for the other officer who is near death....please do it so you can back up what a man you are.....

Then wait unti Christmas, go back over there, invite yourself in for some nice Christmas drinks, sit by the fire with them as they celibrate their first Christmas without their Dad, husband, son, who was out on the streets everyday to protect CLOWNS like you. You.....are dispicable....I just can't believe you found something this cowardly to bitch about. My GOD, how low can you get? Hmmm? To think, a police officer, right at this moment where you live, WILL RESPOND to HELP/DEFEND YOU if you needed it...all you have to do is call them.....and you say something like you did......Geeze, what a world I live in.....to think, if I were an officer, I would HAVE to come help a clown like you, even if OFF DUTY.

Now, damn me all to hell, cut me down, call me names, push your "keyboard cowboy" buttons, bully me, give me negative ratings, make threats, point a gun at me, burn my house, poop on my lawn, do anything, but this is the only post from me to you ever in my lifetime. I will never comment on such an assine comment from you again.....that alone, I know for a fact, will make you so happy.

The rest of you guys who respect/defend and appreciate our law enforcement officers out there, I LOVE YOU DEARLY. Thank you for saying all the good things that should be said about our police guys. They are one special group, a special brotherhood that this country needs to try and keep law and order, to keep our society on track, peace and order. Without you guys, the structure of our society would come completely apart and we would be swarmed with clowns like this guy......

And to the police officers who are members of this board, from me, personally....and seriously....I don't know HOW IN HELL you put up with people like him, that whine, complain, put down, bitch, call you names, Nazis, etc....I just don't know how you do it....all I do know that you guys MUST have a special gene in your body that enables you to.....I know I don't have it.

Bruce,

What if the two officers had been critically injured while out fishing? Should the relatives have been airlifted to the hospital in that case?

about special treatment to police officers.....

You read what you wanted not what I wrote. The special treatment was provided to the off duty moonlighting cops FAMILIES. And I did state that I felt sorry for the injured/deceased cops and their families. Just do not condone the relatives airlift.

Either you have been abused as a child or been bullied sometime in your lifetime. You'll probably be the first one to call the police when you're getting your a$$ kickked and then bad mouth the police after they saved your a$$.

Nope, wrong again. And if CA would allow me to defend my family and property I would never have to call them for any reason.

They claim they cover their platinum pensions with their own pension deductions, but that contradicts all the public agencies budgets being devoured by public employee pensions and hazardous duty pensions take the biggest bite. And a WHOLE 8.5% wow, I am forced to pay 15.8% and have SS and medicare to look forward to.

For all you leo's, when is the last time you requested airlift for the relatives of a critically injured citizen so they could get to the hosp faster, or even provided escort service. I'm betting you never even considered it. And these two cops were citizens, injured not in the line of duty.

I don't make near 100k a year and when I retire I won't get 90% of my pay so pull your head outta you a$$. Why in the he'll would it bother you that critically injured people are air lifted? Civilians in tc's get air lifted when it's necessary.

Bruce,

What if the two officers had been critically injured while out fishing? Should the relatives have been airlifted to the hospital in that case?

Yes, they should...that happened down here at Lake Anna, where two patrol officers were on the lake, (fishing or not, what difference would it make, they are on always on duty, even if off duty....just ask one, they still would respond to an emergency if he saw one, and you can bet on it....I know, they've TOLD ME) and, anyway, a big wake from a passing speedboat sent one of the officers overboard, hitting his head on the prop or transome, and killed him.....they airlifed him to the hospial along with his two daughters who were on shore....off duty or not, those girls would have been airlifted anyway.....that's why I pay my taxes so the police/fireman who are out there to "protect and serve" can get fast treatment by airlift and also to take the family members with them. The chances of survival is slightly increased if family members are with one in the event of a drastic emergency. Note, I said slightly, and slightly is better than no chance...right??

Another case in point here, and I knew this officer personally.....he was OFF DUTY, alseep in his house, when his wife ambushed him outside after calling him on her cell to meet him outside....she shot him 8 times with a .22 rifle.....this poor guy was airlifted from the elementary school about one mile away, along with his fellow officer roomate and his other best friend.....to Charlottesville UVA Hospital.....hmmmm, he considered those guys his family, any trouble with that???? The guy died 9 days later, but lived long enough to tell his buddies who shot him....real sad, real tragic, real coward of his wife......she's in jail awaiting trial here.....so, see any problem with his three buddies being airlifted with him? Seriously, do you? I paid for the airlift, and have no issue at all with it.....it's great to see my tax dollars used for the GOOD of mankind......not pissed away with that damn empty suit and his gorrilla wife.....feel me?:p

So, you really can't see something wrong with that, can you? You sound like a reasonable guy here. Come on, excerise some common sense for these guys, OK?

Man, I've even stopped on RT 95 in Northern Virginia very, very late one night to help a state trooper fighting with a bad guy on the side of the road.....how could I NOT help? How could I not? He thanked me profusely for helping him take the jerk down, I could see a big fight and the bad guy was trying so hard to get the trooper's gun, so I HAD to help, I jumped in and tackled the SOB, and the officer was able to get control of what could have turned out to be tragic for us both.......what's the difference in helping here or helping with a helicopter? He was a police officer....I gave him special treatment, as he would have to me....it works both ways....don't you see and understand that? It works BOTH ways.....(and this event happend in 1970 so it was quite a long time ago....and I'd do it again in a heartbeat if I don't have a heart attack first.!!!!!)

Come on, man, there should be no question at all in your mind when it comes to helping these guys anyway you can....airlift, anything at all....right?

I think indinjin is jealous of us

He's got to be....it's hard to believe anyone being so callous about officers of the law.....I just can't figure it out or understand at all...

I go to bed every damn night KNOWING the police will respond to ANY emergency we may have at ANY TIME.....it's one of the greatest feelings in the world knowing I have that kind of protection for my wife and I...here they are outside my garage in response to a call I made....and they remembered my name, too!!!

022_22.jpg

A real nice visit with them and both the nicest guys you'll ever meet....and all from one phone call....one and one half minute response.....pretty damn quick.....

(Love that picture)

he still doesn't get it:rolleyes:... the ''moonlighting'' they were doing was still a police function.
So, if i'm working overtime as a firefighter(which I do quite often because I make way less than 90K:rolleyes:) and I die in a fire or am struck and killed by a car on the interstate while trying to pull a drunk driving accident victim from a car should my family not recieve any ''special treatment''?

I would hope they would roll out the red carpet for them.

We have lost 3 officers this year and our community has done so much for the families. Anyone that has a problem with that can **** off! to be blunt:mad:

We had a 4 alarm apartment fire tuesday night... 3 firefighters went to the hospital for heat exhaustion. These 3 people plus the other 40-50 FF's didn't know any of the residents but nonetheless we "risked'' our lives that night.

As for 90K and 90% at 55... where do I sign up. If I choose to retire at 55 I will have 60% salary:rolleyes:

Amen, Brother! Well said. I'm with you 100%.....and my hat's off to you also...to think anyone would rush into a flaming roaring hell just to pull me or my wife out and you don't even know us!!?? Man, I'm lucky to have guys like you on this earth.....very, very thankful as I am towards officers of the law.....you guys are really some good, brave people!

Thank you ever so much for your brave service.....I don't know if I could do it....

I've got a firefighter good friend who ran into a second floor home on fire...grabbed the little kid, started running out, and the second floor collasped...they both fell into the basement....the child died, and my buddy broke his back....he's been on a pain pack for decades and he STILL hasn't gotten over it....I can't even talk to him about it...he's retired on total disabillity, can hardly walk....to think he rushed in to save a child's life from a burning house and didn't succeed....that's one hell of a thing to live with...he still cries about it......and I've seen roaring, horrible fires also...it takes a special kind to fight those, a brave brotherhood. You deserve all the special treatment in the world and then some!! You'll sure get it from me:smile:

Hat's off you to, and I mean it.

Bruce '87 Grand National

NO ONE, deserves special treatment.
Anybody who puts their ass on the line for complete strangers deserves special treatment. Fire, Police, EMS, Military, etc...

Im really starting to think you were one of the kids who got his ass kicked in high school and is just still really angry about it.

I think you have really showed ur true cowardly colors making such a ridiculous post.

And once again jackass you had made a complete fool out of urself and posted more BS while twisting the facts by saying they were moonlighting so why should they get special treatment?

They were attending a funeral for a Manhattan Beach Police Officer who died of Cancer earlier this month at the age of 36 moron!

They were not moonlighting. they are volunteering their time as all Police Officers do when attending another cops funeral jackass.

And as far as the family members riding in the Lifestar helicopter that is not uncommon. family members often go with the medics especially if they have other medical conditions or medication they may be allergic to.

time is limited and an immediate family member will know this information and can help the medics and doctors treat the victim.

you arent really stupid enough to think Lifestar was dispatched out to the scene so the family members could have a lift to the hospital do u. I really hope you have more common sense then that but I seriously doubt it.

your pathetic attempt to twist the facts to make it look like the chopper was dispatched for them alone is comical. you should really just stop making threads cause ur obviously not very intelligent and here is another thread to demonstrate ur ignorance.

so ur cop bashing thread has now turned into you making a complete jackass out of urself. nice goin schmuck. you should go bury ur head in the sand now cause you have made urself look really stupid.
