Why do BMW 5 series want to race me?

On Sunday, BMW 550 was my latest victim.. I will spare you the details, except that I didn't even spool up and jumped 3 cars on him before I hit 60mph

12.8 sec 1/4 miles.
All with a6spd
Auto is a bit slower
All factory specs.

The 550i. Is a mid 14sec
With a good driver 6spd
15sec auto. Beating a 550i is Nothing to brag about

Since we're playing games about cost..
Truth be told - most of those BMWs on the road are not bought, or owned - but leased.
i.e. Borrowed.

Most TR's are - Owned.

Not that that is material to a kill story - But jus' sayin'

Yep and they are fun to drive. They may think they are fast compared to a honda accord and may just want to gauge it against a fast car. Who knows.
