I think that is the case I most states.

Would making it a felony not reduce the amount of car thefts?

I don't know why either. My ex keyed my new TL doing $1,400 worth of damage and she's now locked up with a felony. Anything over $400 damage is a felony so I don't know why theft isn't also. God I hate that girl.

By us if you leave the keys in the car and someone walks by and takes it the States Attorney won't give us Poss Stolen Motor Vehicle(felony). They give us Criminal Trespass to Vehicle(misd.)

In VA, theft of anything over $200 is a felony....including automobiles.

Like Im sure u never got charges approved before even when there were keys in the car . The statement is a wonderful thing..."Oh man office..I didn't steal the car, my play cousin did" And thank you very much, Ur bus to 26th and Cal will be leaving in the morning.
