does anyone know the weight of the stock gn rim. and how much of a performance advantage do you gain when you get aluminum rims. like 17s or 18s. thanks.

stock rims = 28 lbs, for every 100 lbs savings you gain 1/10th in the quarter mile.

My experience is that the typical, non-racing oriented alloy aftermarket wheels in 18" and up sizes can be as heavy if not heavier than the stock wheels.

They usually contribute to greater braking distances if the brakes on the vehicle aren't upgraded.

Dedicated racing wheels are a whole 'nother matter.

Yea, I was looking into getting racing wheels lol. I figured that as long as the rim was lighter than your original rim you gain performance in acceleration and braking. Is that true? Or does size also matter?
