Wanted DEFECTIVE ignition module

Does anyone have a KNOWN DEFECTIVE ignition control module-preferably a stock original GM one that they'd like to donate in the interest of failure analysis? I want to open it up and try and figure out what goes bad. I will pay shipping to 03873. Please let me know. Thanks!

I have an bad original GM unit I removed from a friends car last week, it still had the date code sticker on it from 4/86. His car just died while driving and wouldn't restart. I replaced the module and coil with Borg Warner parts (one side of the coil was also bad). Lmk if you want the module
