ok..probably should have left well enough alone! I have an old volt booster(Red's maybe ?? has a black box w/led and two adjustable pots under caps)...Since it does nothing for my voltage, I would like to remove it(have a new caspers to replace it). Problem is, on the diagram for the caspers, it shows TWO brown wires coming from alternator plug. The booster in there now is plugged directly into the alternator and has the two wires, one dark that disappears into the engine area(I'm assuming its the exciter wire for volt light) and another lighter one that goes to the booster box. Should there be another lighter brown wire and alternator plug somewhere ??? I wouldnt have anything to plug into the alternator if I completely remove the booster that's in there now. Secondly,if I plug the caspers in, and hook it up,should I cut the connector off the old one ?? Very strange setup...any guidance would be appreciated...TIA !!
