Vacuum Lines

I have never blew any vacuum lines off my car before. I was at Norwalk last night during the test and tune and blew 2 lines off the block on top of the engine then followed the lines and where there are a couple of T's I blew them apart too. I first noticed my fuel gauge quit working then the boost gauges went. Is this a common problem? And also what do you guys use to hold the lines to the block? I was just using wire ties and have never had a problem till now. Wondering if there was a better solution.

Small zip ties do the trick!

OK, thanks for the response. I had small zip ties on them and never had a problem until last night. I will put them back on with small zip ties. Guess it was just one of those things. . . . . .
