USB to Parallel cable

I anyone using a parallel usb adapter on a newer laptop to run their scantools. I want to use my laptop but nto sure if it will work with such a cable without a driver for it. All the cables Ive seen dont have drivers.

i use one when i use my buddies laptop. my laptop has serial but i dont always have it with me. have had no problems. i use it with turbo link and just had to reset comm port..

I found one on tigerdirect that has software as well. It sturbolink im tyring to get going.

I have had trouble using Win98 with a USB adaptor, but not with XP. I think its because XP has the drivers.

i use xp. maybe why it was plug and play.
