Hey Guys,
I bought a new transmission with a few goodies inside from Extreme Automatics. After getting the transmission installed, I didn’t even get a chance to put no more than 50 miles before I had engine failure. Before I had the engine failure, I noticed the transmission would not make the down shifts on its own after coming to a complete stop. I would have to place the transmission in Neutral then place it back in D for it to return to first gear. If I don’t perform this procedure, the car will try to start in D. This happened as soon as the transmission was installed and not over time. What would cause this? Can I fix this, or should it be looked at by the builder? Does anyone else have to do this on a new build from them?
Another thing I noticed, when I make a WOT blast from a stop in Drive, the transmission makes the 1-2 shift perfect I think, but as soon as it gets to 2nd it immediately goes to 3rd leaving no room for the RPM’s to go up in 2nd. Is this normal? Can I fix this or should it be looked at by the builder?
Reason asking, I have a new motor coming and I don’t want to be going through the transmission blues when it arrives. I hope I don’t have to ship this thing back out and really have to explain I didn't hardly place any miles on it and being it's past the 1yr Warranty :frown:
Thanks in adavnce for any input!!
I’m trying to get all opinions and suggestions on top of what the builder has to say when I can talk with him.
