Anyone know the TQ for the rear diff bolts? I was told 30ftlbs by a GM guy but want to clarify from a TR owner.

Probably more like 30 inch pounds. But I never torque those bolts (or use a gasket).

3/8th ratchet and a short extention... turn 'em down until they're 'tight'.

Are you talking about the cover bolts or the bearing cap bolts that hold the carrier in?

those are 5/16" bolts- anything more than about 20 ft lbs or so is begging them to break...

just snug them down with a short handled 3/8" ratchet... if they leak, snug them a little more..

Drained the old fluid, cleaned things up, put on new cover (replacing TA Performance cover), and added 2 quarts of oil plus anti-chatter. No leaks and the grinding on sharp left turns is now gone :)

Just in case you need more info on bolts Torque
