timing chain trouble??

ok well had to replace the timing chain (missing teeth) the problem is im at tdc and the dots on the original chain lined up perfectly but i cant get the one to line up exactaly craink is at 12 o'clock but cam is to the right (counterclock wise) off by about a tooth do i just need turn the cam gear back with the chain off?

yes move the cam gear back a tooth and then remove the oil pan to get the teeth out of the pan. they will clog the pick up screen eventually

ok thank you, already removed the oil pan to change rear main thats how i ended up here
