Looks like they stopped the oil leak from the oil pump to the bearing.....

The bearing insert was one they dropped in the engine when they did a re-bearing. Gasket jammed in between the block and cover. Send it home anyway

Am I seeing things????A rod bearing with an oil hole(plugged by silicone).

Total newb mistake....everyone knows that you never mismatch the color of your gasket with a different color RTV.....

Surprisingly the crank doesn't look all that bad.
The crank will beed to be ground .010" under. What sucks is it was a low mile engine that had never had the heads off and someone's shitty work ruined it. The caps have absolutely zero metal transfer on the mating surfaces.

Sorta reminds me of when a local guy had his timing chain replaced by the local gas station that he'd been going to for years. They started the motor without priming the oil pump and ran it until it built pressure on it's own. Needless to say his original low mileage engine was short lived after that. All I can say is that there are plenty of hacks out there!
