The bearing insert was one they dropped in the engine when they did a re-bearing. Gasket jammed in between the block and cover. Send it home anyway

The crank will beed to be ground .010" under. What sucks is it was a low mile engine that had never had the heads off and someone's shitty work ruined it. The caps have absolutely zero metal transfer on the mating surfaces.Surprisingly the crank doesn't look all that bad.
