Temp cooling fan should turn on?

Been a while: Doesn't the single pole sw on the intake serve as an overtemp protection device? Turns the fans on by grounding. [Something like 230*???]
A "what if" scenario.. This sensor is failing, and has begun grounding at a lower temp than designed?? Or, is that kinda like being "just a little pregnant"??

You are correct sir.

Thats exaclty what happened. When i hooked the fan up i was checking for power/signal, and that switch was commanding the fan on,so i thought that was the correct wire for the low speed fan at the fan plug.It was commanding it at 150 now this year it was 125.I didnt know at that time that they were suppost to come on at 166,i thought 150 was normal.
