Tell me its just the alt.

My scan master is reading 11.9 to 12.3 volts changed the bat. still the same So I ordered a 140 amp alt. My question is ??? Is it the alt thats causing my ping I am alc. inj. and running 108 octain and still getting ping readings

Did you take a volt reading at the back of the alt and the actual battery? The voltage getting back to the scanner is not always accurate.

You should alse check the voltage on the wire that plugs into the back of the alternator. With the key on, you should have twelve volts or so to that wire. It's the trigger for the alternator to charge. If you have the key on and no juice there, the alternator will not charge.
