Speedo Stops At 40MPH

Hey, this is a question I've been meaning to ask since I got my car..On the way home from picking the car up, me and my brother realized that the speedo stops @ 40MPH and doesn't go any higher..It's an aftermarket 145MPH speedo..but I don't have any Idea why it would stop at 40MPH..any suggestions??

Yup! The 145 mph speedo has a new face that sticks on right over the original 85mph face. If the facing pulls away just a tiny bit it will interfere with the movement of the needle. Just open it up and stick it back somehow. Ask me how I know.
