Speedo blinks 85 mph

So today was the first day I got to put some miles on the car. To those of you behind me on the highway, I apologize for the cloud of smoke emanating from the rear of my car. An Oil Lean and NO Exhaust system will do that.

But here is my question. apparently when I reach 85 MPH, the number started to BLINK repeatedly, and would not progress past the 85 MPH number. I do think the car was going faster, but why didnt the Speedometer show the faster number?????

Yes. the car is most likely STOCK.


Sidenote: Anyone in the NYC area know where I can purchase an Exhaust and get it installed on a Sunday????????

digital dash cars will flash at 85. if you want you can send your dash to caspers electronics and they will install a 199 chip in the dash so your dash will display up to 199

my grandmother had an 87 caddy it would only read 85 then blink lol.
