speaker problem

i have an 85 regal presidential edition and when i turn the radio on when the car is off all the speakers work fine but when i turn the car on the left speakers quickly fade out and stop working....does anybody know what the problem is? Thanks in advance-John

hmm, I would say a ground problem. Make sure none of the speaker wires/terminals are touching any metal and do the same for the deck, is this a stock radio? HTH

yea its a stock radio im going to get a new head unit soon neways but just wanted to fix this for the time being thanx

Any one else have any suggestions? I just bought a set of 3.5 inch audiobahns and 4X10 Audiobahns. I really want to get it fixed before i install the speakers. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated..thanx alot

Try the new speakers, who knows might be the stock speakers. Or just upgrade the headunit and get it over with. HTH
