Simmons 5 Spoke... What color?

I am going to be procurring the Simmons for my GN.. What color do you all think would look the best?

yes go with the black... any idea how much they run in the 17" size? i to would like a set. i have nto seen any prices online.

I was quoted 2395.00 50% dep and 50 % on Delivery.. Which is about 3months from date of order.

The 2 possible configurations are:

2x 17x8.5 -Fronts
2x 17x9.5 - Rear ***Requires the GNX Flares****


or

2x 17x8.5 -Fronts
2x 17x9.0 - Rear ***Does not require any flares****


I am going to order them in the future.. just debating on the color.. There is a GN on ebay that has these in Silver.

I got them in the silver and have the 17x9.5 inch in the rear and you DON'T need the GNX flares. If I had to do it over again I would go with 10 inch wide in the rears. Find somebody that is a dealer to order then for you and you will save some $400. I have the silver but if I were to do it again I would get the grey or charcoal like the rustang wheels. I saw a GN at the Nats with the black centers and that was just TOO much black on a car. If you want to talk, e mail me your phone # and a good time to call and I'll give you a call.

Black on Black may be to much , Charcoal would go great on a lite colored car , White , silver or gray.
For Black cars silver looks best , You can also get full Polish centers .

You don't need the flares for those wheels (9.5"), you will just need to make sure the lips are rolled. With rolled rear lips the flares do not add any extra room for wheel clearance (they are all visual)

Hey Rick, I bought the Simmons wheels after I saw them on your cars. I have the 17x9.5 rears with 285 40 BFG G Force KDWs and have plenty of room. I didn't have to roll any lips. My GN is stock height not lowered. I could actually go out another 1/2 inch width on the rim to 10 inches wide and not worry about tires rubbing.
I know other guys will chime in that their tires didn't rub or need lips rolled.

Hey Tarey,

Most of it depends on how low the car is, and what tire you will end up running. The AVS sport tires I ran were a pretty narrow 295, that is why I was able to get them to clear (it was really tight though)!

The only reason it was so close on my car is because it was about 2.5" lower than stock, if it was stock height it would have been a totally different story.

Who did you get yours through? I am going with the 18's and 17;s combo ... tooo sweet. Also if not too much trouble can I get the complete measurements, offset, etc and what size tires you are using? THanks!

I got my wheels thru group A wheels in AZ, nice people.

Now for the measurments ,

The wheels 18x9.5 rears with 5" BS
17x8.5 frt's with 4.25 BS

Rear tires 275x40x18 26.7" tall ,11.2" sec. width,10.2" tread .
Frt tires 245x45x17 25.7" tall , 9.8" sec. width.9.1" tread.

Guys at Simmons recm'd 4.75" to 4.875" BS on the rear and 4.34" BS on the front wheels . I would go with 17x8.5 front wheel with 4.34 BS and 18x9.5 rear with either the 4.875 or 5"BS. I have no clearance problems with the size and BS I used ,but each car is a little different ya know

Just so you guys know, Simmons now makes an "F" 19" wheel. Looks a little different because the center of the wheel is sandwitched over the other 2 peices so by te bolts around the wheel its the same color as the inside wheel.
