Silly connecting rod question

How 'tight' should wristpins be on the stock pistons/connecting rods?

I have a set I need to seperate before sending to the coater, but I'd like to get them apart without having to take them to someone with 'proper' heater.

Would using the ol' hammer-n-torch method screw with hardness of the parts at all or should I just use a 10-ton to press it out? If I have to take them to someone, I will, I'm just trying to save a buck...

TIA

Have someone do it correctly. You would actually be saving money doing it the right way, when it doesn't blow up.

caution!

I ran an automotive machine shop for a number of years, and any time you remove a press fit piston, you run the risk of damaging the piston,
its very difficult to heat just the rod to seperate them, usually shops just press em apart.
if your replacing the pistons, don't worry then,
DO NOT USE THE TORCH METHOD, you could over heat the rod, changing the hardness, or other damage!
