Shift Problems from 1st to 2nd > 87 GN

My friends GN symptoms..shifting from 1st to 2nd;

- AUTO (Plc in Drive)..normal accell, shifts good...no slip &.engages..

- AUTO (Plc in Drive)..hard accell, shifts bad..slips,difficult to engage..

- MANUAL (1st to 2nd).. hard accell, shifts good into 2nd..no slip..engages.

I've adjust TV wire...seemed to help..but didn't solve problem...

Could it be T-Converter Switch? Please advise! (Has new Oil/Filter...)

IMHO.... you are about at the end of that tranny's life....

FWIW... manual low should have higher pressures as well as manual 2nd. That (IMHO) is whay it doesn't seem to slip on a manual 1-2 gear change....

In auto.... easy acceleration... there isn't enough load to make it slip.... but upon harder acceleration... it does...

You might install a bigger "billet" type servo... or maybe a .500 boost valve as a temporary stop gap.....both will put more pressure on the band....

IMHO... plan on a tranny build in the near future...
