Problems with VDO Knock Gage

This gage has never worked since i've owned the car ( Last Aug. ) I believe it's hooked up because I can barely see the gage lights, and only when it's dark outside. Was just wondering if it might be a bad ground or improper wiring. Sure would like some advise from you guys so I could get it working properly. Would like the proper way to hook it up also in case it was done wrong. Thanks !

VDO Knock Gauge?
Are you sure you don't mean Casper's knock Guage. if so try contacting them at www.casperselectronics.com

If its a Caspers gauge that little green status light should be very bright unless they've changed since I've had mine. Mine was so bright at night I cut a little 1/2 moon piece of black tape and covered about 1/2 of the light on the front glass of the gauge. And since its a black unit, you don't really even notice the fitted tape on the gauge face.
