Can someone tell me what the stock power steering pump pressure is?

I have searched the internet for two days now trying to find out with no luck.

Thanks in advance

Thank you. I’m looking at going to a 1500psi to see if that will help cure the hydroboost whine.

I’ve got a PSC reservoir and it didn’t get rid of it either.

I’m getting ready add a upgraded pump instead of buying another reman one. Turn One has some great products and will be the last piece to the puzzle aside from the steering box.

Does the PSC reservoir have 3 nipples so you Don't need a "T"? My brake pedal is a little slow to return and I was told this might cure it. Did you try Lucas power steering additive?

Yes it does have three nipples and deletes the T

Have you read PSC's reservoir location / installation & bleeding tips? Did you flush & fill PS fluid using the manufacturers suggested Swepco fluid?Might find some useful information .

Just a reminder, be sure to get a reverse rotation P/S pump.

I’ve read all that many times. I haven’t moved to swepco. PSC said that’s for their pumps. They recommended a full synthetic.

As far as the pump my understanding is they are reverse rotation pumps. I haven’t had the option of picking whether it’s reverse or not.

I have been working on this for months researching trying to fix the issue. Upgrading the pump and using synthetic are the two things I have not tried yet. I’ve been through two remanufactured pumps at this point. The first one stated leaking and I don’t imagine the one I have on it now is far from it.

I had a feeling that's why you asked your original question.

From the research I did a few years ago, it's very common for a PS pump to have no problem turning the wheels, then get overwhelmed when asked to the turning and the braking (that's why I went with vacuum).

To make things worse, most of the threads I researched indicated that even replacing the pump multiple times didn't cure the problems.

That’s the case I’ve found with replacing with rebuilt stock pumps.

Turn One makes a heavy duty pump for this purpose. I’m sending them my pump so they can make sure all the fittings are correct on the new pump and it will be the proper pressure for a hydroboost setup.

Fingers crossed
