Hello,
My names Brent but go by Bozo on-line. I like to start this simple, easy reading post so a visual pattern emerges over time. I can't do a pole for single person/multiple failures or i would. I'll go first...(i hope to be on my latest build for long time,Knocking on Wood!) Like the post to only include Turbo Buick V6 motors.

No need to mention my patterned Lead Foot. In all these motor build's i've found it comes down to the Machinist over the Tuner....True,A Tuner can ruin Fresh build, but if the build's not to Spec before hand, the inevitable Will Happen...Motor reliability comes down to Proper Machine Work, Proper Tune,an Proper usage.

I think i have the first two covered now, the Last part, Not so Much as i like Speed....8^)

Any machinist/assembler that wants to maintain integrity should document for their own protection what clearances etc were used. I do. I don't give out that info either. Leaving the machinist/assembler and initial tuner out of it I've seen many engines wasted by the owner who thought they knew what they were doing. Key word thought.

Bingo! This nailed it.

Am I reading this right, 113,000 miles in 4 years???

Yep,10 year/unlimited milage factory 8^),bought the car new Oct. 85' $14,300,86' GN no power options(just turned 16, i was never home, heh), They replaced "That" rod bearing,2 weeks later i brought it back to the dealer with 2-3 others gone. They put in a New Short Block then...

Yeah the 86-GN. Looks to me like he's paid threw the nose for the miles on the 87.

$100,000,....$50,000 of it in "Worthless" rebuilds..(but i did get fed up, an Sued one the shops that build 3 different fails in 3 years ,got my return of $30,000) 8^) (now the post will ring in...lol)

The 87' GN was just appraised by Berret Jackson appraiser for $55,000, so i'm right on target now.
