have a basic stock setup and switched to the colder ac43's, went to the track and car slowed down appreciably, it was a hot nite but my question is........why the colder plug as some suggest?

Generally, the more power you make, the colder the plug should be to help prevent detonation. 43's should be ideal for your setup, gapped at a "tight" .035 or .032/.033 with alchy. It's only one heat range colder than stock. And yes, hot temps are these car's worst performance enemy.

Good Luck - Jimmy
