Hi all
Im in Tucson (same city where Bill Nelsons Automotive is) some of you all may
recognize his name in the GN community..
over the weekend I picked up a real 82 Grand National, and its a turbo model.
Ive been doing a lot of research on the cars history since I bought it. Turns out
its about the rarest GN made out there.
215 Grand Nationals where made in 82 , dont think anyones pinpointed an exact
number of how many of them where Turbo models, but according to the registry
35 Turbo models have been found (including this one).
Luckily being here in Az this car is 100% rust free and its 59k original miles on it.
They where all T Tops and it was the only yr of course the GN wasnt black.
The car has been sitting for about 4 or 5 yrs but it cleaned up pretty nicely so far.
Ive driven it up to the Quick Trip a few times but just a few miles so far. The carb
has a serious stumble off the line , esp when cold. but think the first plan of attack
is to do a tune up on it and find a set of stock rims for it. In my line of business I
usually buy / fix up / enjoy the vehicle for a while and then almost always sell off
and go on with the next projects(s).. but this one, I may try to hold on for a while
longer then normal. :) :)

Nice find! Was just going through some old magazines I bought a few weeks ago and there was a real good article on the 82 GN. Here r some pics of the article and a guy from Illinois that knows quiteba bit about them. This was 21 years ago, so who knows if he is still into them or even around! If you are interested in the magazine, PM me and we can work something out. Joe.

Great find! It is almost funny that they were so rare there are not even firm production #s on them! For not being Black this was a great look too. Enjoy your find!
