I just got a deep oil pan from a fellow board member... is a pickup tube extension needed for no girdle? or is it best to put a an extension on? and where to get one?
TIA

I would think the extension is needed to get the pick up deeper in the pan.

Seems like the pan, not the girdle, or non girdle, is the issue.

Don't know where to get the part, but I would think it would have to be welded in place and any fabrication shop should have some tube around that should work as and extention. I would personally clean the part after cutting and then again after a nice clean TIG'ing.

I believe the answer to your question is yes. RJC has 2 different extensions available. One for people that buy the deep pan and have the girdle and the other is for the Girdle with stock pan. Contact them and see which one would work for you.
