oil thrust plate help

Hey guys, need some help.....I installed a melling oil thrust plate, when its all bolted up and tight the oil pump doesnt move at all through the cam sensor hole...Ive taken it apart and reinstalled everything, and the same thing is going on......Im wondering if it just needs some oil to lube everything up or ??????

The end play is not enough. You need a thicker gasket. TA has a nice kit that they sell for adjusting the end play.
