No overdrive in TCI200r4

I cant get into overdrive , And this thing will not shift untill you let off the gas then it hits hard.I tried adjusting the tv cable both ways and nothing seems to work.It will shift a little sooner but then i run out of adjustment.It is a TCI street fighter trans.I have a 2500 stahl converter.Any help would be appreciated.

Are you positive your TV cable geometry is totally correct? Is this a new, fresh-out-of-the-box unit? May also be a governor spring issue.

do you have zero pull on the cable wih the engine idling?

meanbuicks Yes it is a fresh trans,Chris That is what i am not sure of,I have the adjuster all the way out at the end at the carb.It is a damn universal cable.(I hate universal crap!)How should i go about checking to see if there is any pull at idle.(Unhook it?)If so can i cut some of the sheathing away or get a differant universal cable #.There is alot of extra cable behind the engine before it goes thrue the bracket.Thanks for the reply.
