Yes, if I kill them im gonna start another motor build. I plan to be real conservative at first

Update to my build, car is running and I'm in the tuning process, running 8-9 lbs of boost with a front mnt intercooler.

I'm certain, Walkman is using a 4pin HEI module in a locked out computer distributor. Timing retard is not relying on boost but rather the offset of trigger signal on the VR sensor as RPM's increase.

I got rid of the stock computer controled distributor and got a 4pin vacuum advanced unit, but once I hit 3rd gear with 10 lbs or high rpms, timing is crap, I get serious rattling , you can probably hear it in the video. Trying to lock down this timing issue myself

Alright in that case you will have to limit the amount of mechanical advance in the vacuum distributor to stay near or under 22* while on load, 3rd gear or WOT.

What do you think, heavier springs on the weights or just get some sort of ignition box, I'm assuming my timing is way up in the 30°s at WOT.

Ignition box upgrade is always a good idea, as is heavier springs on the mechanical advance. Since it's a vacuum distributor you can lock out the mechanical advance completely and set the lower max advance under load and use the vacuum to pull it back up when your not on it.

Sounds like a plan, I've pretty much followed your first setup with some tweeks here and there and the car has surprised the hell out of me, with that being said in your opinion would you stick with the mallory ign box or is there something out there that you would upgrade to.
