My 83' Limited Regal Restoration Thread, PICS

3M heavy Bodied seam sealer is some nice stuff! if your going for the "factory" look 3M fast and Firm (in a caulk gun tube) is what you need. BUT, this stuff doesnt spread nearly as nice as the fast and firm.

Use the Heavy Bodied, what I do for a real nice look is take some 3/4" tape and mask around the seam you want to seam, and use a small acid brush to brush the sealer out, remove the tape right away, because if the sealer starts to set up, it will look like crap. (ask me how I know) I think it's like a 10 minute window you have.... this will leave a real nice crisp edge.

This is how I did all my seams on my car..Another plus is heavy bodied stays flexible, and Will Not crack over time, unlike the single part Fast and Firm.....

Thanks, that's what I wanted to know. Your car looks great and you do some really sweet work.

It's DONE! PICS......

ok...10-1-09 to 5-14-11 The 83 Buick Regal Project is complete.......the results are stunning, I am very happy how it turned out, all this stuff was once a thought in my head, and now it is a reality:

-strip car to bare metal, previous paint job wasn't holding up..
-Molded rear bumper fillers
-smoothed all factory seams in jams
-GNX louvers molded into fenders
-All aluminum trim Chrome Plated, all stainless polished to a mirror like luster
-New GM weatherstrips
-New upper door panels
-Power driver seat track upgraded to newer 3 motor, moved mounts back 2.25 inches.
-All LED lights in car (except underhood light, thats a sylvania silver star)
-Tri-Coat White Platinum paint job
-dynamat entire interior
-rear seat braces, under hood braces, all 3 braces under front of car
-make this Regal like no other out there......

this entire car has been done by myself, and I would have no other way.

Having it appraised Sunday AM...plan on driving it this week. Enjoy the pics!

sickness! That is freakin' sweet. I need to find a project to bring to you.;)
Excellent work. Really loved the smoothed out seams in the trunk...

I don't think I'd want to drive it for fear of getting her all dirty.

Ooooooh....my!!!!!

Jason, love the car!!!you've outdone yourself!!!!!you will get alot of "attitude" at he car shows....you should draw a crowd!!! Enjoy!!!!! I see some very nice cars at the local car cruises and shows....but.....not many owners can say "i did this work and paint job"...beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thanks for all the kind words guys! I had the car appraised yesterday. the appraiser who looked at the car back in 2006, was very impressed. Said in all his years, when he opened the doors he has never seen a car that he could see himself in the rocker moldings..that made me feel good.

I am still going to be paranoid driving it on the street...but thats what I built it for, to drive it, not just stare at it in a garage. I plan on having some professional photos taken of the car. We had our engagment pictures taken w/ it back in 2004 when it was done the first time around, so much has changed on the car since then..

I am so happy w/ the end results, and love sharing everything w/ everyone else. I've seen so many threads on here loaded w/ pictures and I have always said I want to do that, it's the least I can do for the Buick Community, this board has sooo many great members!!!

Jason, you did a wonderful job. As far as driving it ... well, hell yes! I drive my GN as much as possible, but mainly to cruises and for cruises. What you have done to your car is, it is one of a kind. In order to keep it that way, you need to limit your driving somewhat. I have my dark red T which allows me to have my fun, but still keep my GN as pristine as possible. That's how you can have your cake and eat it too. Have two! :D

more pics..outside in sun

heres some pics outside in the sun today, much better than the garage shots.. enjoy.
